After four days of playing (man, oh man, it was a BRILLIANT long weekend!) with my family and friends in celebration of my new title: Dr. Boogren, today was spent back on a plane. And it was a very Monday kind 'o day... A kid spilled his milk all over my backpack (ewwww), I discovered (too late) that I have a bum wheel on my suitcase (now it rolls all caddywhompus-y), and I'm over my credit limit on my business credit card (customer service calls are always soooo much fun). Mon-day. Monday the 13th, no less.
Here's the silver lining: I got to use my United Club pass for the first time today. And it was glllooorious. As I entered through the sliding glass doors and rode the escalator up into the sky and stepped off into the quiet bliss, I said a silent thank-you to my husband, once again, for this glorious gift. Ahhhhh. There were comfortable chairs--all next to outlets. There was coffee. There was food (which I am proud to say I avoided... since I didn't 'avoid' all weekend). There were multiple--clean--restrooms. There were magazines and windows and tables and printers and no one was yelling or screaming or seething. There was a bar (also avoided this... for now) and places to put my feet up and, and, and...
It. Was. Awesome.
So awesome that I damn near missed my flight. Whoopsies. Guess the spilled milk was karma for all my 'sophistication' and bragging... Hurumph.
